You too could be taking care of business...for free
Wow. It’s not often I am wow’d by corporate America, at least not in a good way. But Wow. In Boca Raton where Office Depot is headquartered, they decided that the national chain will continue to offer free photo-copies and faxing for resumes of anyone who is unemployed through the rest of the year. That’s till January 2010 - we gotta have jobs by then! Right?!
Free copies and faxes can save you a lot of money especially since for some reason some companies still want you to occasionally fax a resume. But without a doubt it’s a good idea to keep a small stack of resumes on you at all times - even with you to the interview. Don’t ever presume that because you emailed them a copy of your resume that they have one. Bring them with you and hand one to each person you interview with. Even if they don’t need one it makes you look prepared.
