This Wednesday, March 18, and every third Wednesday, admission to the California Academy of Sciences is free, which means you’ll save $25 unemployment dollars. The museum–worth a visit for the Renzo Piani redesigned, living roof-topped building alone–is home to Steinhart Aquarium, Morrison Planetarium, Kimball Natural History Museum, a number of penguins and a rainforest.
The museum is open from 9:30 am to 5 pm, but get there early, really early. By 10 am, there’s usually a line several blocks long.
The California Academy of Sciences if located in Golden Gate Park, at 55 Music Concourse Drive.
