A student ID is the potato for making your unemployment dollars stretch. As long as you aren’t graying, and comfortable with a little lying, your old ID can get you a discount on all sorts of things.
At a number of businesses all over San Francisco (the movies, Apple, chain clothing stores like GAP and J. Crew), you’ll save 10 percent or more. And, at museums and other cultural attractions the discount is often more: the SFMOMA takes half off your admission if you have a valid student ID.
So with a little luck and good genes, by the time you outgrow your student ID and transition to the senior discount, you’ll have made back some of that tuition you might still be paying off.
