[youtube hky53gXyjX0 nolink]Thursday, March 5, at 8pm New Nothing Cinema will be showing the mob filmĀ Gomorrah for free. The 2008 film, directed by Matteo Garrone takes a raw, brutal look at La Camorra, a powerful mob in Naples akin to the Cosa Nostra. Eschewing the glamor and pseud0-celebrity seen in movies like Scarface and The Godfather, Garrone’s film depicts the mafia for what it; greedy, destructive, and violent.
The film is based on a book of the same name by Roberto Saviano, who was forced into hiding and now permanent police protection because of the corruption that he exposed.
New Nothing Cinema is located on Sherman Street, between 6th and 7th Streets
